This web site and the Facebook Group with the same name are intended to build support for a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would change the manner of election of the President. This proposal would bring the U.S. very close to popular election of the President, while still retaining significant federal character in the election process and significant bipartisan appeal, so that the required approval by two-thirds of both Houses of Congress and three-quarters of the State Legislatures is possible.

Comments may be sent privately to popularfranchise@aol.com or may be posted on the Facebook Group ‘MakeEveryVote Count.’ Some comments will be posted at the bottoms of pages on this web site or on the Endorsements page, but direct posting proved to be unworkable because of the high volume of automated spam comments.
If you like the principles outlined in the Overview or the Amendment Drafts that embody those principles, please encourage your own U.S. Representative and Senators to consider introducing or supporting a bill along these lines. It is difficult to get any attention from Representatives and Senators other than one’s own, so that many people from all over the U.S. are needed to press Congress for action on Electoral College reform.
